Travelling to Trigonos

TRIGONOS is situated in the village of Nantlle on the B4418, between Penygroes and Rhyd Ddu. Caernarfon is the nearest town.
PRONOUNCIATION OF NANTLLE: The tendency is to pronounce Nantlle like mantle which should be avoided! It is a word of 2 syllables, the first Nant- and the second -lle which can be difficult to non-Welsh speakers so -le (lay) is the closest approximation! Nant-lay

BY CAR

Trigonos is situated in the village of Nantlle, on the B4418 between Penygroes and Rhyd Ddu.

We are keen to reduce petrol consumption and car journeys to Trigonos. Before deciding, or having decided, to travel by car, why not consider car-sharing.

DIRECTIONS FROM THE NORTH
Take the A55 to Bangor/Holyhead. Ignore the first junction signposted to Bangor. At the following junction (signposted Caernarfon & Bangor) leave the A55. Follow signs for A487 to Caernarfon and then Porthmadog. About 5 miles after Caernarfon, at a roundabout, take the first exit signposted Penygroes.
In Penygroes, turn left at the HSBC Bank. Continue to a T-junction (1.5 miles) Turn right and carry on for 1.5 miles into the village of Nantlle. The Trigonos entrance is on the right, opposite the phone box.

FROM SOUTH/MID WALES
Follow the A470 through Dolgellau and then the A487 towards Caernarfon. Take the third exit at a roundabout signposted Penygroes. Take first exit at next roundabout and go up the slight hill. After quarter of a mile turn right at the HSBC bank. Continue as above.

FROM THE MIDLANDS AND SOUTHERN ENGLAND
There are many possible routes, some more scenic than others. Two of the main routes are:
* M54 on to the A5. Follow to Bangor, then join the North route (above)
* M54 on to A5 up to Capel Curig. Left onto A4086 / A498 to Beddgelert. Then A4085 to Rhyd Ddu and left onto the B4418 to Nantlle. Drive through the first part of Nantlle and after 200 yards of open land, turn left into the Trigonos driveway.
